WP2: Requirements, format and creation of Immersive experiences

D2.1 – End-User Requirements: This deliverable reports on Task 2.1, requirements workshops with end-users. The outcome of this deliverable is a set of end-user requirements for the offline and live produced content scenarios within the ImmersiaTV project.

D2.2 – Professional User Requirements: This deliverable reports on Task 2.2, requirements workshops with professional users. The outcome of this deliverable is a set of professional user requirements for the offline and live produced content scenarios within the Immersia TV project.

D2.3 – Content ideation, production scenarios: This Deliverable addresses the content ideation and production scenarios for pilot 2 of the ImmersiaTV project which aims to create and deliver synchronous experiences across devices (HMD, tablet, TV) for live events based on omnidirectional video. It also comprises a requirement analysis regarding the corresponding technical scenarios and software development for the different functional blocks of the ImmersiaTV end-to-end workflow: live capture & stitching, live production, live encoding and content distribution, content reception & display, and quality of experience. These technical specifications and software requirements form the basis for the architecture, core technical concepts and module implementations, and functional interfaces related to pilot 2, which are defined in Deliverable 3.1.

D2.4 – Content Creation: This document lists the content creation datasets (video content) produced during and under terms of the Immersiatv project. There are three different types of data acknowledged: raw test content (no post production attributed), processed test content, finished footage used in the pilot demonstrators (pilot 1 and pilot 1.5). All content is published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 license.

WP3: Immersive Broadcast Platform

D3.1 – Architecture design: This deliverable defines the core technical concepts of ImmersiaTV project, it lays out the global architecture of the different software and hardware modules as well as the standards that will be used in the scope of the project. It establishes the architecture and the interfaces of the various functional blocks that comprises the immersive system. Functionality of the ImmersiaTV project is based on several modules that implement particular functions required for video acquisition, video processing and encoding, video production, content delivery and reception and display. All the main components are described in details in order to provide the reference for implementation and integration activities in the project. Finally, the Quality of Experience methodology and test scenarios are pointed out to support and formalize project results validation procedure. The document provides overall system architecture but it is focused on Pilot 1, 2 and 3 requirements collected and analysed in Deliverable D2.3

D3.2 – Capture components: This deliverable describes the hardware and software components delivered for Pilots 1 and 2 resulting from Task 3.2 Capture.

D3.3 – Production tools: This deliverable describes the hardware and software components delivered for Pilot 1 and Pilot 2 resulting from the work done in T3.3 – Production Tools. The document contains two sections – one dedicated to off-line production tools and the other focused on live VR tools.

D3.4 – Coding and decoding modules: The video encoding and decoding components are responsible for the compression and subsequent decompression of the 360 omnidirectional video stream. This deliverable describes the status of the hardware and software encoding components delivered in Task 3.4.

D3.5 – Delivery and reception: This deliverable describes the hardware and software components inside the distribution and reception pipeline of media content delivered for Pilot 1.

D3.6 – Interaction and display: This deliverable describes the software components for end-user devices delivered for Pilot 1 and Pilot 2.

D3.7 – Quality of Experience: This deliverable describes the hardware and software components for Quality of Experience (QoE) module delivered in Pilot 2. The document outlines the design and implementation of the ImmersiaTV QoE module and its interfaces to other ImmersiaTV sub-systems. In particular, the document specifies QoE module architecture, how the QoE sub-system communicates with other sub-systems and what QoE relevant data will be acquired and computed.

D3.8 – Workflow integration & End-to-end tests: This deliverable describes the process and methodology of integration components of the Immersia TV project. It contains information on how the releases were prepared and what functionalities appeared in each release. The document also contains description on testing process and lessons learned from the testing the integration process.

WP4: Demonstration pilots

D4.1 Pilot execution and evaluation plan (2nd Iteration): The pilot execution and evaluation plan describes the overall pilot framework and details the different pilot activities that will be organized for each of the three pilots. These activities include user evaluations with both professional and end-users. There are three iterations of this deliverable, one for each of the pilots.

D4.2 – Pilot Execution Report: This deliverable reports on Task 4.2 pilots. The outcome of this deliverable is a description of the pilot 1 execution for the offline produced content scenarios and pilot 2 execution for live event content within the ImmersiaTV project.

D4.3 – Technical Evaluation: This deliverable will detail the technical aspects of the outcome of the pilots, what worked and what didn’t, what should be improved from a technical performance perspective. The technical evaluation will be focused on the performance monitoring of different components delivered in the iterations of the project, the lessons learned in each iteration, and guidelines to improve performance.

D4.4 – User Evaluation: This report details, iteratively, the perception of the experience by the end- users, as well as the perception of professional content producers using the production tools from performance and service management perspectives. Usability aspects are also included in this report.

WP5: Dissemination and exploitation

D5 1 – Market analysis report: This report provides a Market Opportunity Analysis of ImmersiaTV. To do so, it analyses ImmersiaTV‘s Value Chain, with 6 main categories of stakeholders identified. In particular it analyses in a detailed manner the business model features of (i) three potentially close competitors for ImmersiaTV and (ii) three of the main 360 video distribution platforms. Then it provides a description of the main market trends for audiovisual immersive products. Finally, based on these analyses, it provides a set of recommendations regarding ImmersiaTV’s positioning in its Value Chain.

D5.3 – Documentation and technical fact sheets (M11): This deliverable is a compilation of all printable documentation, mostly used for dissemination and communication purposes. There is all content created during the last ten months: two posters and two flyers. Both materials were used in the different commercial and scientific events as TVX 2017; TNC2017; Smart City Expo World Congress 2016; IBC Show 2017; NEM 2017 or Mobile World Congress 2017.
